Providing Incentives
By incentives, I simply mean providing some sort of
inducement to your prospect to get him or her to take action. This usually comes
in the form of gifts, something of value that they can’t get elsewhere, or at
least not easily or cheaply. The more value in the incentive, the more likely
your prospect will take action, which usually means ordering a product through
your affiliate link.
This is very similar to a merchant offering bonuses on the sales page, also to
induce the prospect to take action. This is a well-known sales tactic and has
worked well for a very long time. It’s human nature to delay decision-making, so
anything you can do to induce the prospect to order now and specifically from
you, will greatly boost your conversion rates.
This also ties in with the tactic of being different
from other affiliate marketers. With the incentives you are providing, you are
making a unique offer, and hopefully one that becomes much more appealing.
So, what incentives do you offer?
Really anything that your prospect will find of value. This will obviously
depend on your market. The best incentives are the ones that are unavailable
anywhere else, so consulting or exclusive reports normally do very well. Try to
match the incentive with the product you want your prospect to purchase.
Offering a totally unrelated bonus, even an exclusive one, in not a good idea.
Let your imagination flow and I’m sure you will come up with something that will
really make you stand out as the one to buy from. Then, watch your commissions
grow.
